Day Light | Monument room | Kilkenny arts festival | 2012 edit
– paper drawing and video projection | 11 minutes and 5 seconds [looped]
This site-specific work came from the contradictory elements of St. Mary’s Hall Monument room. The large north-facing window does not flood the tall space with natural light as one would come to expect, instead it is dull and grey. This work plays with that idea that we have that, daylight through a window brings brightness to a room.
This piece Day Light plays with our awareness of the space and it’s subtle presence rarely presents itself to the viewer.
